Acceptable use policy
Hangar lends real Android phones to people and to AI agents. The phones are for testing, monitoring and controlling apps and websites. Not for deceiving anyone. This policy says plainly what is allowed, what is not, and what happens in case of abuse.
In one sentence: test what you are allowed to test, and nothing else.
1. Who this applies to
Anyone using a Hangar service, through a browser, an API key or an AI agent. If you connect an AI agent (via MCP or the API), you are responsible for everything it does with your account, exactly as if you had done it yourself.
2. What you can do
- Test, capture, monitor or control your own apps and websites.
- Do the same for a client or employer who has given you permission, preferably in writing.
- Test public websites the way a normal visitor would: load a page, check rendering, measure load time.
- Let an AI agent do all of this for you, within the limits you set.
3. What is forbidden
These uses are forbidden, whether by hand, by script or by an AI agent:
- Account farms : creating, warming up or operating accounts in bulk (social networks, games, shops, messaging apps, Hangar itself), or presenting our phones as fake people.
- Fake traffic : generating clicks, ad impressions, views, installs, reviews, ratings, votes, followers or plays that do not come from genuine human interest. This includes your own apps: displaying or tapping ads to inflate a counter is forbidden.
- Fraud : paying with a payment method that is not yours, abusing promotions, referrals, sign-up bonuses or refunds, placing fake orders.
- Bypassing checks : getting past a CAPTCHA, an age or identity check, an SMS code, bot detection or an anti-abuse limit on a service you do not own.
- Spam : sending unsolicited messages, SMS, emails, comments or notifications in bulk.
- Personal data harvesting : scraping people’s profiles, contacts, phone numbers, messages or photos, or a service’s data without its consent.
- Illegal content : publishing, storing or distributing illegal content through our phones: child abuse, hate, harassment, counterfeiting, malware, etc.
- Attacks : scanning, attacking, overloading or exploiting a system you are not authorised to test; trying to break out of the phone you were lent, reach our network or other customers, or keep control of a phone after your session ends.
- Reselling and sharing : reselling access to Hangar without our agreement, or sharing your API keys outside your team.
4. Your obligations
- Only test what you have the right to test. If in doubt, ask for permission first, not afterwards.
- Use test accounts and test payment methods. A real purchase requires the merchant’s explicit consent.
- Do not enter anyone else’s real personal data on our phones.
- Keep your API keys and agent connections secret, and revoke them when no longer needed.
- Give your AI agents suitable permissions and a cap, and stay reachable at your account’s email address.
5. What we check automatically
Some limits apply to everyone, by default:
- a monthly quota and a number of simultaneous tests per plan;
- a maximum request rate per agent connection, with a daily cap set when connecting;
- a limited number of sign-up and sign-in requests per address;
- activity logs (who, what, when, on which phone), kept to investigate problems.
More checks are coming, such as refusing ad-network addresses and a maximum request rate per API key. Screenshots, videos and logs produced on our phones may be reviewed by the Hangar team after an alert or a report.
6. What happens in case of abuse
We respond according to severity:
- the request is refused;
- the API key or agent connection is suspended;
- the account is suspended, then closed; any running subscription is cancelled;
- for fraud, illegal content or attacks, we keep the evidence and may pass it to the authorities or the victim.
Serious abuse can lead to immediate closure without prior warning. If you believe a suspension is a mistake, write to us: a person reviews every appeal.
7. Report abuse
Do you see a Hangar phone being used against your service or against someone? Write to us through the contact form, starting your message with “Report”. Include what you have: date and time, IP address, targeted account, screenshots. A person reads every report and answers you.
